In Memory of Rob Lannen

The Friendly Sons has lost former President Rob Lannen. Rob passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2006 after a short bout of cancer. Rob and his wife, Sheila worked tirelessly during Rob's tenure as president, which just ended this last spring. Whether cleaning the hall, changing a beer keg, conducting membership meetings or whatever else needed to be done, Rob gave his time unselfishly to the club. He volunteered for other Irish causes as well, helping to organize the annual Souper Bowl and assisting at the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade, just to name a couple. He did it all with good Irish humor and that great smile of his. For all of us who shared a pint with Rob, worked alongside of him or enjoyed a bit of "craic" with him over the bar at the Friendly Sons, he will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered.
